The check presentation was done on Thursday December 15th, 2011 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Portland, in front of the 30 foot wall mural dedicated to the game and its legacy of supporting the Portland hospital while engaging communities throughout the state. The check represents the year end proceeds for the 2011 football event, which was held in Baker City, Oregon, bringing the total donation by the East-West Football Association to $130,000 for the year.

Gary Tate notes that the game, in its 59th year, has become an outstanding highlight for participants, spectators, viewers and for the children of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Portland. The game represents many months of hard work from Shriners throughout Oregon, organizing a game that represents high schools from throughout the state with the finest athletes and which raises money to support the hospital.

Gary thanks the talented young men who play in this game and to their parents, coaches, officials, cheerleaders and the many volunteers needed to host the state-wide football game. It was the sixth year that the game was televised in five states by ROOT Sports (formerly FSN Northwest).
