Congratulations to the hospital’s newest Lady and Gentleman Volunteers of the year.
Aleta Siefer and Phil Strother were named as volunteers of the year at the annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner held on April 29th at the Al Kader Shrine Center.
Siefer, a resident of Portland, Oregon has been volunteering at the hospital since 2009 in the hospital’s Patient Education Library and at the hospital’s reception desk. Prior to volunteering Siefer was an employee of the hospital for 40 years. She devoted more than 1,241 hours in 2010-2011.
Strother, a resident of Lake Oswego, Oregon has been volunteering since 2008 as a driver for the hospital helping bring children to the hospital from the airport, bus and train station. He is also an active member of Al Kader Shriners as well as other masonic groups. During 2010-2011 he volunteered more than 815 hours.
More than 120 volunteers and their guests were honored at the event which culminated in announcing the volunteers of the year. recognize the hospital volunteers for their hours and years of service to the organization. The dinner recognized the achievements of the volunteers for both 2010 and 2011. Special awards for “Best Smile” were presented to Ellen Anne Jensen and Bruce Dyar, “Best Dressed” awards were presented to Janice Fitzgerald and Ken Friedland. The awards for “Going the Extra Mile” were presented to Fred Swanson and Phyllis and Frank Brewington. Please click on the link to see a list of all the awards presented for the evening.
